Constructing a New Solution
When constructing a new database solution it is essential that project managers are appointed, not only by Sensible Computing Solutions Ltd, but also by the Customer. This person(s) would be the prime point of contact for the resolution of any implementation difficulties should they arise.
The service provided by the Sensible Computing Solutions Ltd will consist of;
- Development of an agreed Project Plan showing the specified features and actions, milestones and related dates and staff assigned.
- Product training
- Regular meetings on site to discuss progress and agree necessary results and actions between both parties.
- Co-ordination of delivery of solution components and agreement of acceptance plus raising of agreed invoices following meeting of milestones.
The Customer appointed project manager should be fully conversant with the operational practices of the company, have an understanding of the requirements of the new database solution, possess some basic IT skills and above all command the respect of fellow employees. His/her responsibilities will involve:-
- Providing the Sensible Computing Solutions Ltd project manager with access to any personnel and/or information necessary to allow the implementation of the project to continue in an efficient and timely manner
- Co-ordination with the Sensible Computing Solutions Ltd project manager in agreeing the content of the Project Plan and ensuring the appropriate staff are assigned.
- Ensuring the availability and punctuality of appropriate staff for product training
- Being available for regular meetings and if necessary arranging for the appropriate staff to be available to discuss progress and agree necessary actions.
- Co-ordination of delivery of solution components and agreement of acceptance of invoices following meeting of milestones.
At each stage of the construction Sensible Computing Solutions Ltd staff will be assigned to work with your staff to advise on each particular element of implementation. Different staff with appropriate skills will be detailed in the Project Plan for the various areas of the project.
